Metal X 3D Printer Overview
The Markforged Metal X 3D printer is an incredibly innovative new printer in a continued line of premium products from Markforged. Metal 3D printing no longer requires a one million plus dollar unit. With the Metal X 3D printer, additive manufacturing with durable, metal parts can be done for a fraction of the up front cost.
The Metal X is available with two options. The Metal X only or the Metal X with the Markforged Mark X integration which add the ability to print using Nylon, Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Fiberglass, Onyx and more.

Printing with ADAM (Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing)
ADAM prints your parts using a bound metal powder that transforms into a dense metal part in one easy step. Bulk sintering provides crystal growth through all the axes giving your parts excellent mechanical properties in all directions.
ADAM enables the creation of unique geometries such as closed cell honeycomb infill. Parts can be printed like the structure of bones - a closed cell inner core encased in a solid outer shell. This geometry is not possible using traditional subtractive manufacturing processes.

Metal X Printing Materials
17-4 & 303 Stainless Steel
For demanding tooling and fixturing applications, Stainless Steel is the perfect blend of high strength, corrosion resistance and hardness. It's used widely in the aerospace, medical and petroleum industries.
A-2 and D-2 Tool Steel (beta)
A-2 Tool Steel is air-hardened making it a great solution for injection molding tooling and dies. The high carbon and chromium content of D-2 Tool Steel provides great hardness and abrasion resistance - it's often used for cutting tools.
6061 and 7075 Aluminum (beta)
Aluminum combines good machinability, strength and weldability. It's the go-to solution for manufacturing applications like jigs, jaws, tools and fixtures.
Titanium Ti-6Al-4V (beta)
Ideal for lightweight applications, Titanium has both high tensile strength and fatigue resistance. This bio-compatible material is widely used in medical applications such as orthopedic joint replacements.
